  Where do I begin? I went to Dr. Dickerson from a reference from my primary. I saw Dickerson, he said he could fix my problem that was degenerative. Before surgery, Dickerson didn't show before surgery, had surgery, stay at spine hospital, no show Dickerson. Finally he showed up and boy did I have questions! Why was I having so much more pain in my butt and down my leg and my foot curling in than I ever had before my surgery!! Dr. Dickerson brushed it off as oh it's just healing, maybe scar tissue. At two week they told me to go to my Primary to get my stitches out. Hummmmmm I had a ball of fluid which my primary said oh it will go away! Well that ball of fluid became having to wear a Guaze pad (Kotex) and changing it 3 times a day! Still Dr. Dickerson's office said to go to my primary! Went back to Dickerson primary. My X-ray was such a cobbled up mess, the PA didn't even check my incision. They immediately said I needed to have surgery to clean out infection. (I was still having foot curling, butt pain and leg nerve pain.) but they cleaned out incision. Dickerson explained he couldn't do any thing about other problems with potential spreading of infection. .......so after the infection clean out, guess what? Infection back. PA thought, oh I wonder if they took a culture? They had me on minocycline, and infection took different antibiotic! Ok so I dismissed this as oversight went back and Dickerson said screws moved because of soft bones and he needed to replace one screw. Went in and PA told me I had such soft bones and Dickerson had screwed my neves accidentally. PA said he released all my nerves and all should be better. NOT. If I sit my leg gets cramps and numb. Went back for my 2 week checkup after x Ray., a new PA came in and told me my 2nd surgery failed. I shouldn't lift anything, that at any time my spine may slip and end up with drop foot or worse. I went home crying! My husband was furious, what could have happen? We went back to see Dickerson but in the meantime went and seen a surgeon in KC. Surgeon in KC said my back will never heal right, did a bone density and my bones are fine. Dickerson said surgery went well, it all will be fine even though I'm in pain. Now they won't call me back. Left several messages to deal with pain until new surgeon can complete a front and back entrance surgery on me. NO ReSPONSE! If you want this type of care, choose Dickerson. They have it down to a T. I'm preferring to go with an expert that is truly in the profession TO HELP PEOPLE! Nichelle L. Rader

  The office staff and communication to the patient is HORRIBLE. Finally got an appointment for surgery. apparently he worked all night doing a brain surgery so he called his staff to cancel all the appointments for that day. Problem was that they never told anyone until we got tired of waiting in the waiting room and wen up to the front desk. Then BD was kind enough tell us it had been canceled. The doctor has a great bed side manner and he might be a great surgeon if you can get to that point but the previous steps are horrible and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. Get another doctor who will actually meet his obligations and who's staff isn't rude and doesn't communicate.

  Back and neck pain for years, tried every thing from PT, injections, and ablasion to kill the nerves. Was sent to Dr. Dickerson, he said first neck surgery because if not, 1 fall I could be paralized and then he would do surgery on my back that would take away the pin and give me feeling back in to my legs. Now at a year and 6 mo. Still in pain, can't ever get into see him, he wants you to see a part that assures you in time it'll get better. So went to see another surgeon and he is perplexed by this surgery. That no pre surgery test were done to the disc to see which one was causing the pain. Now so botched, I can't even have the hardware removed. I would suggest get a 2nd opinion, don't be fooled by this man. He gives you a fairy tale of no pain and that you'll be back to all the life enjoyments. That isn't true, I can't run a vaccum, carry a basket of laundry, stand, sit or lay for any length of time. I have no quality of life. Will never be able to enjoy grandkids when that time arises.

  Dr Dickerson did surgery on my step dad in Nov 2016. Very nice and compassionate in person and said to not hesitate to call if he needed anything, but the followup on his after care has been negligent. May not be his fault, but somewhere in the office there is a disconnect. My stepdad had an appt last week at 4:00. It was 9 degrees outside. He had to be transported from the rehab facility and when they got there he was told that Dr Dickerson was running 2 1/2 hours late. He can't sit in a wheelchair that long and the transportation provided by rehab doesn't transport past 5:30. It seems that they could have called to tell them they were that far behind to save him from getting out in the cold. The front desk person had zero compassion for him. Unfortunately I would not recommend him under the current organization he is under.
